First Discussion Question

Please respond to the following question in a post on the blog. Please cite specific examples from your observations or a book, or a reputable internet resource.

Why are lesson plans important for an effective riding lesson? How would you determine long and short term goals for a rider? What objectives would you use ot meet those goals? How would you measure your goals and objectives? How would yo keep track of a rider's progress?

Welcome to the CU Apprentice Blog Site!

Hi everyone.

Welcome to the new blog site for the Challenge Unlimited Apprentice Program. This blog is a space to share your observations and discuss the many aspects of becoming a riding instructor. I have set the permissions on this blog to private. This means only CU Apprentices and staff can access it. Please use this site to bounce ideas off each other.

I will post monthly discussion questions here and on the CU Apprentice website. Post your responses here. Also make sure to respond to everyone else's posts.

Consider this blog a field journal as well. You will post your lesson observations to this site. This will allow everyone have the opportunity to discuss the many different types of lessons at Ironstone Farm.

I look forward to reading about your experiences and reflections about being a riding instructor at Ironstone Farm.
